This site contains the official reported opinions and slip opinions of the New Mexico Supreme Court and New Mexico Court of Appeals, as well as the New Mexico Supreme Court Certiorari Tables.
The slip opinion is the first version of an opinion released by the Court. The slip opinion may contain deviations from the official opinion and is replaced within a few months when it is formally released by the Clerk of the Supreme Court for publication. In case of discrepancies between a slip opinion and the opinion published under "Current Year Opinions" on this website, the opinion posted under the "Current Year Opinions" link controls.
Once a case is selected for publication by the Court, it is assigned a vendor-neutral citation or case number which shall be cited according to Supreme Court Rule 23-112. This corrected and final official version of the case, complete with topical indexing found at the end of the case, is posted on the Current Opinions pages of this site. The slip opinion is removed at that time from the Slip Opinion page.
